Story

It's time for CHOW's biggest fundraiser of the year! We're partnering with Beer Tree at the Oakdale Commons for our 41st Annual CHOW Hunger Walk.

On Saturday, September 23rd join us at Oakdale Commons from 3-6pm. We'll walk together to stomp out hunger at 3:30, enjoy games at the Dick’s House of Sport athletic field, fun family activities at our CHOW Kid’s Zone in the mall and live music and food at the Factory by Beer Tree Brew CHOW Walk party until 6pm!

The CHOW Walk has three important goals:

1. To increase awareness about hunger in Broome County.

2. To raise funds to provide food to our neighbors in need.

3. To exercise and have fun as a community!

Hunger is more widespread in Broome County than many people realize, and in 2023 the need has become even greater. So far this year CHOW has distributed almost 40% more food to our agencies than last year. Thanks to donors like you CHOW is able to meet the growing needs of our community in many ways:

CHOW distributed over 2.4 million pounds of food in 2022, that's over 2 million meals served in Broome County!

CHOW's Broome Bounty program recovered & redistributed 1,757,493 pounds of good food from local groceries stores and restaurants last year. That's 88 garbage trucks of food that went to local families, instead of the landfill!

CHOW does all of this without charging any of the 100+ pantries, meals sites, or residential homes in our network a penny. But we absolutely could not do this without your help.

Funds raised during The CHOW Walk make our work possible throughout the year.

Would you make a donation to fight hunger in Broome County today?
