Chris is raising funds for Brighterway - Brighterway is dedicated to enhancing patient care at Southern Health by raising funds to provide support beyond the NHS budget. With your assistance, we can improve care, experiences, and outcomes for all our patients every year.

A message from Chris:-

I work as an Occupational Therapist in Forensic services for the Trust. I’m supporting Brighterway through participating in the Great South Run as I have seen firsthand the difference their support can make to patients and staff alike. I know this is an important service provided to all areas of the Trust, and I want to help support this further where I can.

I began running in Jan 2023, using the Couch to 5k app, and feel I am living proof that anyone can take up running! I never planned nor expected to go beyond doing regular 5km runs, however I found myself extending the distance and earlier this year ended up completing a 10km race. The Great South Run seemed to be the logical next step! This is not without trepidation, up until now the furthest I have run is 12km, but I figure another 4km is doable!

I’m looking forward to the experience of completing the race and knowing whatever money is donated to Brighterway will support them to enhance services for all who encounter them.
