Story
I’m in that very fortunate position of being retired, fast approaching real “Old Age” but still enjoying relative good health (touch wood!). I’ve always relished a challenge, and after recently seeing the film ‘The Way’ which tells of a grieving father walking the Camino Frances in memory of his son, I thought this could be an excellent way of challenging myself while raising some much needed funds for the Hope Centre, who’s staff do such excellent work in support of the many disadvantaged folk of West Northamptonshire and for whom I do some voluntary work.
Walk the full Camino Frances (Way of St James) - a journey for the spirit and soul that millions of travellers complete year after year. Setting off from St Jean Pied de Port in the foothills of the Pyrenees, and finishing in Santiago de Compostela, you will enjoy an incredible sense of achievement and build a wonderful camaraderie with your fellow pilgrims. Take in varied landscapes, from the majestic Pyrenees to the lush green valleys of Galicia, to the immense plains of Sierra de Campos. And enjoy overnight stays in some of Northern Spain’s most beguiling cities including Burgos, Leon, Pamplona and Santiago. This walk is one sure to stay in your memory for a long time to come!
