Story
Hunger and malnutrition are harsh daily realities for many of our pupils and their families, who are living in extreme poverty in the poorest regions of Uganda. Christmas is simply another day with too little food and a rumbly tummy. No special meal, no treats, and often no food at all.
Here at Child of Hope, we want to change that – not just at Christmas, but into the New Year and beyond
With your help, we can not only provide an amazing Christmas for our pupils and their families, but also boost the funds available for our food programme into the New Year. This programme supports our foster children, those pupils with health conditions (like sickle cell, TB and HIV), child-headed families, and the most vulnerable.
Around £5,300 will enable us to provide:
~ A fabulous Christmas party for our poorest pupils and their families in Karamoja.
~ A Christmas food parcel for every pupil in our schools across both regions, with enough rice and beef to feed their whole family – providing over 4,360 meals to families who often go hungry.
Additionally, any amount raised over £5,300 will have a lasting impact and support our food programme throughout the year.
The bags of food we give each child at Christmas go a long way...
£10 buys two bags of food - enough for two meals for 12 people
£25 buys five bags of food - enough for two meals for 30 people
£50 buys ten bags of food - enough for two meals for 60 people
£100 feeds multiple families and supports our food programme in the new year
Your generosity makes this possible, and all contributions, big or small, will make a huge difference for families who might otherwise go without.
Please help us fill empty plates and bring joy and celebration to families who deserve it.
If you would prefer to donate via PayPal on our website, by cheque, or by online banking, please visit www.childofhopeuganda.org/donate. If we reach our goal, any extra funds raised beyond the needs for our Christmas party/Christmas food will provide year-round meals for children in need across our schools.
