Story
This year, Chorley FC Community Foundation is once again opening the doors on Christmas Day, 12pm–4pm, to welcome anyone who would otherwise be spending the day alone.
The core of the day is already fully funded thanks to the incredible support of Chorley Council, especially Council Leader Aaron Beaver and Cllr Ross Green, along with help from the CAF Community Chest Fund. Their contribution means everyone who joins us will have some warm food, a hot drink, and good company at no cost.
But since we said we were doing this, many people have asked “Can I donate to help?”
The honest answer is: we don’t need it.
However, thinking about it, a couple of hundred pounds would allow us to do something extra special.
If we raise a small amount, we can make sure that everyone who comes to us on Christmas Day walks home with:
A small gift
A treat bag
Something personal to remind them they’re valued and not forgotten
It’s not essential, as I say the day itself is already covered, but it could create a bit of extra joy to the people who need this most.
No pressure. No expectations. Just an opportunity to add a little extra kindness.
If you’d like to contribute towards making the day feel even more magical for those who need it, your donation will be used wisely, I promise.
Thank you for caring, thank you for asking, and thank you for helping us make sure no one in Chorley spends Christmas Day feeling alone.
Merry Christmas, Chorley. ❤️🎄
