Christmas is the most magical time of the year. Spending time with family, seeing children smile and having a few special surprises is what it’s all about.
But for the thirty one families spending Christmas unexpectedly at Ronald McDonald House Glasgow to be close by their seriously ill child in hospital, it’s a time of uncertainty, worry and separation.
All year round Ronald McDonald House Glasgow opens it’s doors to hundreds of families of seriously ill children being treated at the Royal Hospital for Children, offering them the free ‘home from home’ accommodation minutes away from the ward.
We provide them with the practical support they need like facilities to cook meals and wash clothes. With a donation from you, Ronald McDonald House Glasgow can provide free family accommodation close to their children’s ward ensuring everyone can spend Christmas together when they need it most.
‘At any time of year the facility would be excellent but the effort by the staff over the festive period was unbelievable and did so much to ease the pain a little of having to be away from home and family at this time.’
Keeping families together is our mission this Christmas. Your donation will mean that we can keep our doors open and not turn families away this Christmas; families who are experiencing one of the most uncertain and distressing times of their life.
Never has there been a more important time for us to keep our doors open than at Christmas.
