Santa Fun Run Cirencester 2024 · 1 December 2024 ·
On Sunday 1st December The Churn Project will be inviting everyone to our second 5K Santa Fun Run at the Abbey Grounds in Cirencester.
People of all ages and fitness levels - from seasoned runners to those looking for some holiday fun, will be running 5K dressed in their best festive or Santa outfits. We even have a 1K route for younger families to take part.
All money raised will go towards The Churn Project's work in the community.
The Churn Project supports people across the community in Cirencester and nearby villages, focusing on those who are vulnerable and marginalised. Our aims are to reduce isolation and improve wellbeing for local people, particularly for those who are lonely, at a point of transition or crisis in their lives, or experiencing mental health issues.
We directly support over 1900 people each year, focusing on people who are unemployed, suffering from poor metal health, vulnerable families and older people. We run around 30 different activities each week ranging from antenatal classes, to well being programmes, to dementia support clubs. The Churn Project is unique in supporting such a cross-section of our community, particularly the most disadvantaged.
We operate right at the heart of our community and are often the only place people feel they can turn to. We listen to what people say they need, we know what solutions are available locally - through our own services and those of other partners - and we stick with people as long as they need us to.
We are particularly proud of our relationships with the people we support and, over the years, have won their, and our community’s, trust as an organisation that listens, responds and helps bring about positive change.
