Why?

Learning outside has so many benefits including physical and mental health, creating memorable learning moments, increased motivation and personal confidence. Our aim at Cupernham over the next couple of years is to link all of our current curriculum subjects to allow an increase in learning outdoors. As part of our journey towards creating a more established outdoor curriculum, we need to make sure our grounds support opportunities for learning. We need areas that classes can utilise and meet in to learn whatever the weather. An outdoor classroom would be an amazing addition to our school site. It would provide shelter from sun and rain and therefore could be in use all year round.

What we need

A roofed Gazebo large enough for a whole class of 30 children

A whiteboard to be able to record ideas

Internal benches around the outside edge

Flooring to allow use all year round without it getting too muddy
