Story
I’m proud to be an ambassador and long-term supporter of the charity Fight for Sight. I want to blow away people's expectations of what sight loss means and to be a role model for people of all ages with a visual impairment.
I am taking on the most exciting marathon run! As an artist I push the boundaries of braille, so when I got the Meta Rayban glasses with the app Be My Eyes I thought how can I push this technology. I had a crazy idea to run a marathon supported by volunteers who will view my route through my smart glasses and the Be My Eyes app - it could be a world-first.
Volunteers will be able to see what’s in front of me, through the glasses via the Be My Eyes app and join my run remotely in real-time, supporting me along the 26.2 miles. I'll have a relay of glasses and relay of people talking to me. The app Be My Eyes is ground-breaking as it connects people who are blind or have low vision with volunteers worldwide through live video and artificial intelligence.
I am so excited to see if we can pull this off.
As a backup safety precaution, a trained guide runner, provided by The Richard Whitehead Foundation through their Supported Runner Project, will trail me round the Brighton Marathon.
Please support me and help to save sight, change lives
Thank you
