The Classroom Crisis Appeal

Every day, 65 children in Nepal walk hours to reach school, only to learn in classrooms that could collapse. Could you help us build two new classrooms? These brave students deserve better.

High in Nepal's remote hills, 65 children walk up to two hours daily just to reach Bindeshwori Primary School. Their enthusiasm for learning is incredible – but so is their fear of the crumbling classrooms that put their safety at risk every single day.
The school's 30-year-old building is literally falling apart. During monsoons, water pours through holes in the roof and children huddle in corners trying to stay dry. When strong winds blow, the walls shake and everyone gets scared. The 2015 earthquake left the structure dangerously unstable.
"We want to study, but it is hard to focus when we feel unsafe," says 14-year-old student Resam.
The headteacher fears the worst: "We are scared that the classrooms will collapse during classes with children in them." Teachers, parents and the school committee have been desperately trying to patch walls with mud, but it's nowhere near enough.
These brave children from marginalised Chepang and Tamang communities deserve so much better. They're walking hours through mountain terrain because they believe in the power of education – crumbling walls shouldn't be allowed to crush their dreams.
For £19,500, Child Rescue Nepal can build two safe, modern classrooms with steel frames and zinc roofing, plus 15 sets of desks and benches. The remote location makes costs higher, but these children deserve the same quality education as any child anywhere.
Together, we can give 65 children the safe learning environment they desperately need and deserve.
