The Welsh 3000s is a well-known mountaineering challenge in Wales. It involves climbing all 15 peaks in Wales that are over 3,000 feet (914 meters) — and doing them within 24 hours.
The 15 peaks are located mainly in the Snowdonia National Park (Eryri). The challenge is usually split into three mountain groups:
Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) massif – including Snowdon, the highest peak in Wales
Glyderau range
Carneddau range
Key rules (traditional version)
All peaks must be climbed in a continuous effort
No driving between mountains (you must walk the entire route)
Complete within 24 hours
Total distance: ~30 miles (50 km)
Total ascent: ~4,000 meters (13,000 ft)
