Story

Snowdon, standing at an enormous 3,560 ft (1,085 metres) high, and reputedly the burial place of a mythical giant, will be climbed by 11 volunteers to raise vital funds for Crossroads Friendship Group.

Julie, Teresa and Lisa, who are team members at Crossroads Active Living Centre, will be joined by Aileen Wright, Cathy Banks, Sally Banks, Susan Hayes, Catherine Hayes, Valerie Harris, Hannah Gabriel and Marion Davies, who are all friends and family members of people who attend the group. They will be supported by Tim Frost who is meeting them at checkpoints with refreshments.

The group will be climbing Snowdon on Sunday the 21st of July and are busy preparing with smaller hikes and treks to make sure that they are fully prepared to complete the challenge.

It's estimated that the ascent and descent will take around 10 hours in total, and the team will be staying overnight in North Wales to give themselves plenty of time to make the summit.
