Story
A new clubhouse for Epsom Sports Club
Exciting News!
Hi all
I’m thrilled to share that we have reached a truly landmark moment in the club’s history and a moment many of us have been working towards for over eight years — the contract for the construction of our new clubhouse is now in place. It’s been a long, and often frustrating process but we are finally there! Work begins on 9 March.
But this is just the beginning. There’s still plenty to do before we can open the doors to our new home. To everyone who has already donated: thank you. Your generosity has carried us to this point and has made a real, tangible difference. It genuinely means more than you know. To fit out the clubhouse properly and ease some of the financial pressure from the loans we’ve taken on we need to raise an additional £100,000. Now is the time to get involved.
To everyone who has been involved in getting us to this stage – a huge thank you - we could not have done it without you.
Together we can do this!
Please donate through our Just Giving Page so that we can achieve the £180,000 target needed to complete the build.
Every donation large or small will help.
Our Just Giving page forms part of our overall funding campaign and we hope that you will support us to build this facility and maximise our benefit in the community.
If you are a UK tax payer please consider making a gift aid declaration.
If you are able to make a larger donation, please speak to a member of the Epsom Sports Club Board or Hockey Club committee. You can contact us via: hockey.director@epsomsportsclub.co.uk.
For more information about current sports club activities please look at our website: https://epsomsportsclub.co.uk/
Sharing this page with your friends could help us raise 3x more in donations:
The Justgiving service will add on a tip for the service they provide to charities at no cost to us. This amount can easily be adjusted or simply set to 0 if you wish.
Background:
Epsom Sports Club is a charity providing facilities for sport and recreation for Epsom and Ewell residents and others. Our users are aged from 4 to over 80. Members of the sports club, school children and community groups have been using our sports pitches at our second site at Old Schools Lane since 2018. However, the current facilities there comprise only two portacabins with limited toilet, changing and kitchen facilities. These are inadequate for school, community and sports club users alike, being basic and inaccessible.
A new clubhouse will let us provide accessible facilities for local community groups and individuals to hire, and interest has already been expressed by local running clubs, fitness classes, hobby groups and charities. It will also give us the opportunity to explore an offering of social prescribing with local GP surgeries as the physical and mental health benefits of engaging in sport and recreation are well established.
By contributing to this fundraiser you will be helping to deliver a much improved facility for use by our members, partners and the local community. Please view our video which includes details of the project as well as comments from users and local community supporters.
