Story
In 1975, at the Blue Boar pub in Chipping Norton, a group of friends sat down together and founded what would become Chipping Norton Rugby Union Football Club. Originally the club had neither clubhouse nor pitches, they would follow thanks to the fundraising efforts of those early pioneers. Today it is through the dedication and generosity of individuals past and present that the club celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2025.
While we celebrate the past we are looking to the future, so please support our Club Development Campaign, so that we can have a club fit for the next 50 years.
The club has just been awarded a RFU British Airways Spaces for All Fund grant of £ 10,000 to refurbish our clubhouse and create a fresh new welcoming social space for existing and new club users. The refurbishment project will include smart new flooring, doors, windows and upgraded lighting. Work will take place over the summer months avoiding key events, ready for next season. To fully fund the work, we need to match the grant with our fundraising appeal. If every member contributes £25 we will hit our target easily.
