Story

Codi-robert is a 2 year old from Daventry. He was born at 26 weeks weighing just 1lb 6oz! Codi is a surviving twin as we sadly lost his big brother Caleb-reggie at 6 days old.

Codi has had a very stormy time in the NICU and spent 136 days in there, with many re-admissions. He suffered with a grade 3 and a grade 4 bleed to the brain which then led to him being diagnosed with Hydrocephalus at 7 months old which he then had to undergo his first shunt operation. Codi had a VP shunt fitted which unfortunately failed 9 months later due to his stomach not being able to absorb the CSF fluid, so he had the end of the shunt moved to the opposite side of his stomach, which again 48 hours later the same thing happened. The neurosurgeons made the decision to now give Codi a VA shunt this means the end of the shunt will now have to go in to his heart.

Overall Codi has had 5 shunt failures.

Codi has cerebral palsy on the right side and does not use his right hand very often.

After everything Codi-robert has been through and still goes through he is such a happy and content little boy and just keeps amazing us daily! We are working extremely hard with him by taking him to private physio courses and getting specialist equipment to carry on the hard work at home to give him the best chance of independence for his future.
