**Further update 30th June**

We have a very exciting update from Colin He has found his forever home and is now called Henry! His foster family who were so dedicated to this little guy and his recuperation are now his forever family!

Since his last update, his wound has healed up very nicely and the fur is beginning to grow back on his leg. We are thrilled that he is now walking well and with regular vet trips and physio in the plans he will be monitored closely. He has recently had his first walk outside and loved it, so is looking forward to many more as he continues to build strength in his leg.

Now that he is feeling much better, his cheeky personality is starting to shine through and has been known to steal the pegs when his new mum puts the washing out! Despite the fact that he really doesn't stay still for long (unless he's asleep!), with some patience we've managed to capture these stunning shots of him which show what a beautiful dog he is, inside and out - truly a life worth saving.

Update 10th June

We are delighted to be sharing an update on Colin for you, especially after such wonderful support for the emergency appeal.

He spent some time at the vets, receiving lots of well-earned fuss but it was time for Colin to move to a home environment to continue his recovery.

A cosy and comfortable space was made up for his travels and he happily snoozed throughout the journey. Once settled in the home, Colin was feeling well-rested and even tried to let out a zoomie now and again. A close eye is needing to be kept on him, as he is wanting to be much more mobile than the vet has advised! This is a good sign that his recovery is going well.

Colin has made himself at home, so much so, that he has his very own man cave where you can find him most evenings. Most likely dreaming about all the wonderful people who funded his operation!

We are amazed at the £9,000 raised so far and any future donations will go towards his ongoing recovery, such as much needed antibiotics and Physiotherapy. This will be a long road to recovery but Colin has all the support around him and the willpower to see him through.

For now, he spends his time donning the cone of shame (much to his loathing) and getting plenty of Sniffari time in. Thank you.

Colin, the 9-month-old Lurcher puppy recently arrived at the vets suffering from a severe leg injury and needed thousands of pounds worth of surgery.

His owners were unable to afford the costly treatment he needed and sadly he faced being put to sleep.

This must have been a confusing and scary time for poor Colin. Luckily for him, a Veterinary Nurse called Millie contacted Forever Hounds Trust and we agreed to take him into our care and fund his surgery. We couldn't let such a young dog who had his whole life ahead of him not have the chance he deserved.

Can you help us with this very unexpected vet bill by making a donation?

Colin was legally signed over to Millie (for just £1!) and we arranged a foster home for him so that he had a comfortable place to recover.

Colin underwent a series of X-rays which confirmed his right forelimb had fractures in both the ulna and radius. We can only imagine the level of pain Colin had endured already in his short life. During his complex and lengthy surgery, the orthopaedic vet inserted a plate and screws into his leg.

Before Colin's surgery began, there was a chance that his leg could be amputated, but because we acted quickly, we were able to save his leg.

It may have taken just £1 to save Colin's life but the cost of giving this special dog the second chance he deserves has run to thousands of pounds. We are currently facing a bill of over £4,300 and this will only increase as Colin spends time recovering.
