This April (2025), the Vision Arcade Eye Care Foundation visited Brikama, The Gambia, and what we found was heartbreaking:

many children are suffering from allergic conjunctivitis and showing early signs of sight loss that could have been prevented.

For a child, losing their sight is more than a medical issue. It means struggling to learn, missing out on play and friendships, and never reaching their full potential. Yet much of this sight loss is avoidable with something as simple as regular access to anti-allergy eye drops, sunglasses, ocular lubricants, and basic eye care education.

Without these, children risk constant itching, corneal abrasions, and permanent scarring — leading to lifelong, irreversible blindness.

We believe no child should lose their sight when prevention is possible. With your support, we can:
