This year we are recognising 2 great past leaders from our football and wider community. We will be fundraising to give sadaqah jariyah in both their memory.

Dawlath Khan (Babul bhai) – A dedicated servant of local football starting with Chairing Newark in the early years and building the foundation for future success. He went on to be part of Sonali Othith creating football for veterans in the community. Later set up 50 Active and was the main behind Bishwanath Sports Association, helping them win the Upazila Cup 4 times in a row. He will be remembered for his new ideas and make it happen attitude.

Shahiyaz Alam – One of the first Bangladeshi Female youth worker from our community. She served the young people of Tower Hamlets for 35 years both as youth and community worker and latter in senior roles. She was committed to empowering young people, especially Bangladeshi/Muslim girls and women.

The one-day football tournament for over 35’s, 40’s & 50’s will be held on 27th Sept 2026, Stepney Green Astro-pitch,12am-6pm.

We aim to raise as much money as possible to give Sadaka Jariyah in their names and also our past recipients Ubedun Noor Chowdhury (Boss), Mohammed Abdul Kadir, Jilu Meah Mannan and Shaykh Fahimul Anam.
