Story
We're proud to be supporting The Trawden Arms and The Mirror's campaign, but this is just one of the community pubs that we're helping across the UK.
With thousands of pubs closing or under threat we need to take action now to help them survive.
The network of community-owned pubs are under greater pressure than ever before. Along with the wider hospitality sector they have endured nearly 12 months of restrictions and lockdowns that have threatened their long term viability.
These businesses are #MorethanaPub to their local communities; they are shops and takeaway services; they're a place to host homework clubs and afterschool activities. They're a place to knit and chat, and gather after a walk. They are the beating heart of a community and a lifeline to so many. And they need our help.
Through this campaign, Plunkett is aiming to raise at least £10,000 to help see community pubs through the coming months. £10,000 could help support the provision of:
* a support helpline providing up-to date information and guidance to 50 community pubs, or
* five start-up bursaries for new community groups looking to begin the journey to saving their local pub, or
* 18 business health checks for existing community businesses to ensure their business remains viable.
Whatever you can give in support of Plunkett's Community Pub Campaign, you will be directly helping community pubs to access a range of vital support - free of charge.
With your help, together we can ensure that community pubs remain at the centre of communities up and down the UK.
