Connected Planet Foundation's mission to is to connect communities to nature. We believe what people love, they will protect, therefore our aim is to build connections to wildlife and nature, whilst teaching the importance of protecting our planet.

Story

Connected Planet have been invited to Tanzania by the team at Turacin Wild Safaris, to provide opportunities for local school children to connect with and learn about the amazing wildlife on their doorstep.

Unfortunately many of the children in the neighbouring towns and villages in Africa, never get to visit the National Parks and Game Reserves that they live so close to. Many will have never seen the wonderful wildlife that tourists pay thousands to see such as elephants, rhinos, leopards and cheetahs, despite living next door. On top of this, in places where reserves aren't fenced, human-wildlife conflict is a huge issue, with elephants destroying crops and predators killing livestock. This creates a huge disconnect between local communities and the wildlife.

Together with Richard from Turacin Wild Safaris we will take children from three different Primary schools into three different National Parks, those being Arusha National Park, Lake Manyara National Park and Tarangire National Park. The children will get to experience their local parks through a full day educational game drive, where they will learn about iconic species such as lions and elephants, as well the importance of conserving them for generations to come. We will then be setting up conservation clubs in the three schools to ensure long-term environmental education for the children. Trips like this can changes lives and empower young people to look after our planet and it's wildlife. The field trips of today help build the conservationists of tomorrow.

For just £10 you can pay for a child to experience the wonders of their local park and build connections to the wildlife there that will last a lifetime. The more connected children feel to our planet and its wildlife, the more chance we have of protecting it.

We thank you.
