David Attenborough............To restore stability to our planet... we must restore its biodiversity, the very thing we have removed. It is the only way out of this crisis that we ourselves have created. We must rewild the world!
Biodiversity loss is concerning. It's sometimes hard to know how we can make a difference.
But we can all play our part in helping nature - by taking steps to protect and enhance our green spaces. Lots of little actions added together can really help our struggling wildlife.
King Charles........Planting a tree is a statement of hope and faith in the future
Trees are something our new king has always felt passionate about.
So it seemed fitting to mark his coronation by launching our Coronation Copse tree planting initiative.
Just £5 will buy a 90cm bareroot sapling, a cane and a biodegradable tree guard (to protect the trees from rabbits and deer as they grow).
By planting a wildlife tree on The Howe you'll be not only marking the coronation, but helping create new habitats for our local wildlife. The trees we'll be choosing species are those of particular value to wildlife - such as Cherry Plum, Bird Cherry, Hazel, Rowan, Silver Birch, Crab Apple, Whitebeam, and Alder.
We're hoping to plant several hundred trees in the new Coronation Copse - and we'd love it if you'd like to get involved on our special planting day in November.
We'll be publicising the exact date later in the year.
