Story
Imagine a world where every eleven to sixteen year old is taught the principles of healthy thinking habits for psychological resilience, as part of the school curriculum.
What if there was a preventative method that can radically increase lifelong mental fitness? What if it doesn't even cost much, set against the short and long-term financial impact of the current epidemic of mental health problems during adolescence? Wouldn't we grasp it urgently and offer it through our schools and our parenting? Wouldn't we make it a national imperative?
Such a preventative method exists: it is Bounce Forward's Healthy Minds, a comprehensive life skills curriculum taught in age appropriate stages for eleven to sixteen year olds, covering the specifics needed to face the challenges of adolescence, and beyond.
As Lord Richard Layard, Emeritus Professor of Economics at The London School of Economics has stated
If we wish to predict which children will lead satisfying adult lives, the best indicator is their emotional health at age 16. This is more important than their academic qualifications right up to the age of 25 and more important than their behaviour in childhood.
So far, Bounce Forward has trained 10,856 teachers across 1,823 schools. Thats a great start, but with around 25,000 schools and 600,000 teachers in the UK, now, more than ever, we urgently need to build our organisation to accelerate the pace of our work.
Please help us by making a donation. Any amount is welcome. Or you might like to sponsor the training of one teacher, for £195. You can, if you wish, specify (in the comments box) which school you would like to receive your sponsorship. We will let them know of your generous gift.
This is a donation with a difference: you would be supporting a charity in its work to equip the next generation with the skills, knowledge and characteristics that are in the best interest of humanity. It's a huge, far-reaching ambition, and I would love you to join our mission.
Thank you again for contributing to the mental resilience of our nations children.
