Sports Hall Development

Help us build a new Sports Hall for Corpus Christi. Our single hall is overstretched, and students need proper PE space. With most funding secured, your support will help us finish the journey and create a vital facility for school and the community.

Story

Please help us build a Sports Hall at Corpus Christi Catholic High School

Together, we can build something that lasts for generations.

The Vision

Corpus Christi has only one Hall. Since the day we opened, the need for a second full-size Sports Hall was identified. Our local community needs this facility too. We are now close to achieving this goal - thanks to Welsh Government, Cardiff Council, local partnerships, and STRIDE fundraising over many years.

At Corpus Christi, we believe in the power of sport to build confidence, health, and resilience in our students. But right now, our PE lessons are under strain. Our only sports hall is constantly in use—not just for PE, but for mass, music and performing arts events, assemblies, exams, and whole-school functions. This means lessons are regularly shortened, rescheduled, or moved outdoors in unsuitable weather. Our students deserve better. A second hall will give them the consistent, dedicated space they need to fully benefit from a rich and inclusive PE curriculum

We’ve come a long way:

• Local partnerships

• Planning approved

• Project team ready

• £1 million raised from Welsh Government grants, STRIDE and school private funds

Will you help us complete the journey

Why This Hall Matters

Current facilities include a sports hall, an outdated RedGra surface area along with two rugby pitches, (one of which is currently unplayable due to a Welsh Water leak) and a football pitch. Unfortunately these facilities are either not fit for purpose, weather affected or being used for other reasons like examinations...

This new Hall will:

• Provide a full-sized, modern, multi-use sports space

• Expand PE and extra-curricular opportunities

• Welcome local groups, clubs, and events

• Foster fitness, confidence, inclusion, and well-being
