Cot Push for Childhood Cancer Month

Campaign by George's Rockstars

This Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, George’s Rockstars joined forces with eight incredible children’s charities for a very special challenge, a Cot Push from Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth to Southampton Children’s Hospital.

George’s Rockstars was set up in memory of 6 year old George who battled leukaemia from 22 months old to provide music therapy for children facing serious and life limiting/ threatening illnesses or mental health challenges in hospitals that spend a large proportion of their time in hospital.

Story

This Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, George’s Rockstars joins forces with eight incredible children’s charities for a very special challenge, a hospital Cot Push from Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth to Southampton Children’s Hospital.

The 19.3-mile journey was created to raise awareness of childhood cancer, honour the children and families facing cancer diagnoses, and highlight the vital support available from children’s charities taking part.

Pushing a hospital cot between two of the hospitals that support so many children and families, George's parents are joined by representatives from partner charities as we come together to show that no family should face childhood cancer alone.

Together, the eight charities show the power of collaboration, raising awareness, sharing stories and shining a light on the difference that specialist support can make for children and families affected by cancer.
