A Tradition at Risk

For years, Coulsdon’s Christmas lights have brought warmth, joy, and magic to our high street — but next year, they are at serious risk.

Our current lighting contract expires after this Christmas, and without community support, we may not be able to renew it.

Croydon Council does not fund the lights or Yuletide Magic. Everything you see — every bulb, every lantern, every decoration — is paid for by the Coulsdon Community Partnership (CCP) and local supporters like you.

Why We Need Your Help

To keep Coulsdon glowing, we must raise funds to cover:

Christmas Lights – £10,000 every cycle

• Replacement installation

• Ongoing repairs

• PAT testing & safety compliance

• Contractor fees

• Storage & maintenance

• End-of-life equipment replacement

Yuletide Magic – over £5,000 this year

This includes:

• The brand-new indoor Christmas market marquee

• Road Closures

• Decorations & staging

• Insurance

• Security

• Power & equipment hire

Yuletide Magic has become the largest Christmas event in our community, completely run by volunteers. But its growth means the costs have grown too.
