Story

We need your help to enable us to continue our services to support people affected by brain injury during the Coronavirus Crisis.

Many of our Service Users fall within the high-risk category They do not live with anyone else or may be unable to leave the house due to lack of mobility following a brain injury. This makes getting out to the shop to get basic necessities, such as food and toiletries, near to impossible.

In response, we launched the Emergency Food Drop Service shortly after a national lockdown was announced back in March to provide vital support.

Thanks to SOFEA for partnering with us.

We have been able to provide an Emergency Food Drop Service. So far, we have delivered over 200 emergency food parcels out into the Oxfordshire community.

During lockdown, we transitioned our typical face-to-face services to a digital service. Our staff and volunteers helped with regular phone calls, information, advice and guidance, as well as a range of online interactive activities. The aim is to give people the very best tailored advice, reduce social isolation and maintain a focus on positive activities.

As part of this, we ran a series of online interactive classes and activities . These included Functional Movement Therapy, chair yoga, baking, artwork therapy and yoga; designed to keep the body and mind engaged and active during self-isolation.

Since August, we have re-opened our Activity and Rehabilitation Centre, but due to social distancing measures, have limited numbers of people who can attend to 12 per day. For this reason, we will continue to offer a digital service for those who would prefer to join in rehabilitation activities online.

This year, our fundraising activities have been hit hard, with all of our events postponed or cancelled.

We need your help more than ever. Help us to raise funds that will go towards the Covid-19 Emergency Fund.

Together we can improve lives after brain injury.

Thank you.
