Carers' Resource is a charity who work to improve support, services and recognition for anyone living with the challenges of caring, unpaid, for a family member or friend who is ill, frail, disabled or has mental health or addiction problems. Coronavirus has significantly increased these challenges.

As COVID-19 continues we are finding our carers now need more support than ever. In response to this we have set up a Carers' Resource COVID-19 Emergency Fund. This fund will provide emergency financial support to our carers. This emergency fund will help carers on low incomes. This is a critical point in the Covid-19 pandemic when more restrictions are being put in place, and I expect life to become more difficult over the winter months.

Our carers have reported that the needs of the person they care for have increased during the pandemic. They are worried about how they will cope through further lockdowns or local restrictions. They are exhausted and worn out and haven't been able to take any breaks whatsoever in the last six months. The COVID-19 emergency will enable Carers Resource to help our carers in many different ways via a wellbeing review which will be completed by our staff.
