Story
Right now, a terrifying second wave of Covid-19 is devastating communities in Sri Lanka. The country has recorded cases of the UK variant which has a bigger mortality rate for several weeks and the first case of Indian double variant last week. Infected numbers have increased by nearly 10 fold since mid April. Unfortunately with less than 700 ICU beds with ventilators in the whole of Sri Lanka, healthcare workers are struggling to keep patients alive.
We cannot leave anyone behind in our response to this deadly pandemic. This is an urgent appeal and we hope you can help us to make a difference by making a generous donation towards this worthy course.
Friends of Sri Lanka [FOSL] was registered as a UK charity in 1987. Since then it has been actively involved in many successful projects that helped the needy and vulnerable people in Sri Lanka.
As expatriates of Sri Lanka, we are duty bound to the beautiful country and its people to do our utmost to overcome the tragic situation they are in. Our charity's goal is to help minimise the impact of the devastation.
