Make a Splash for Hospice Huntsville!

There are so many different ways you can Create a Swim fundraiser in support of Hospice Huntsville. You can swim, float, dive, kayak, wake board, paddle board or hit the pool and swim some lengths. Use your imagination and help fundraise for this amazing organization.

Creating a Swim for Hospice lets you, the swimmer, create an activity that works for your schedule, swim preferences and still allows you to raise much needed funds for Hospice Huntsville.

Hospice Huntsville receives 40% of funding for its operating budget through government funding. The remaining 60% is raised through donations and 3rd Party Fundraising Events such as Create A Swim. Hospice Huntsville provides compassionate end-of-life care for individuals and their families at no cost. Please do your part and be a fundraiser or a supporter for Hospice Huntsville's Fund A Day of Care campaign.

Fundraising can be done directly through this on-line fundraising platform. Receipts will be issued for donations of $20 or more. Swimmers are responsible for collecting all pledges. If you would like to collect pledges using a paper pledge from, just drop by Hospice Huntsville/Algonquin Grace to pick them up or we would be happy to email it to you.

As all of these services were provided for free, we decided as a team to commit to fund raising to show our appreciation. Our family gathers annually for a Pattison Family Barbeque. We decided that we would kick off the festivities with an annual Swim for Hospice. Hospice Huntsville provides us with the tools we need. Our Team signs up online, participants send out requests for sponsorship via email or social media. Hospice also provides us with a "Purple Boot" and paper-based sheets to assist.

It is so easy to do and generates a great feeling of team spirit. There are so many beautiful lakes and rivers with public access in our area. You could even make a splash in a pool! We choose a spot to meet. We have swimmers, people in kayaks and canoes as spotters as well as cheerleaders on shore. Young and old participate. It is also a great way to teach the youngsters the benefits of fund raising and volunteering.

The swim is a win-win for everyone. Our Team enjoys the event and challenge of increasing our donation total each year and Huntsville Hospice benefits financially. If you have ever been touched by the love of Hospice Huntsville, I encourage you to take a dip. “ ~Sandy Brodie
