We are proudly partnering with Young Lives vs Cancer, to help families to find the strength to face everything cancer throws at them.
When a child is diagnosed with cancer it threatens everything, for them and their family.
At a time when they should be busy being children, enjoying their rollercoaster teenage years or finding their feet at uni, life becomes full of fear. Fear of treatment, but also of families being torn apart, of overwhelming money worries, mental health stretched to breaking point, of having nowhere to turn, no one to talk to.
Young Lives vs Cancer are the charity that helps children and young people (0-25) and their families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer.
Every pound raised makes a difference to the work that Young Lives vs Cancer can do to support families through their childs cancer diagnosis and beyond.
£26 could pay for an hour of a Young Lives vs Cancer Social Workers time. They will aim to speak with children and young people with cancer, and their families soon after diagnosis and help them to understand and cope with the emotional, practical and financial effects of cancer, through treatment and beyond.
£38 could pay for a family to stay overnight in one of Young Lives vs Cancers Homes from Home, providing free self-catering accommodation near to specialist children's cancer treatment centres, which are often many miles from a family's own home.
£100 could pay for a Young Lives vs Cancer grant. Cancer can have a huge effect on a family's finances and a Young Lives vs Cancer grant is offered to children and young people with cancer, and their families, as soon as they come into contact with us to help meet the sudden extra costs that a cancer diagnosis can bring.
