Story

At Cianna’s Smile, we believe every young person deserves the chance to belong, take part, and create happy memories—regardless of health challenges or mobility needs.

This year, we are fundraising £22,500 to purchase:

A minivan – providing safe, reliable transport to youth clubs, events, wellbeing activities, hospital support sessions, and community trips.

Two lightweight, foldable mobility scooters – helping young people experiencing pain, fatigue or mobility difficulties due to sickle cell continue to enjoy days out, activities and opportunities without feeling left behind.

For many families impacted by sickle cell, something as simple as attending a youth club, social event or trip can become incredibly difficult due to transport challenges, pain crises, fatigue or accessibility barriers.

No young person should miss out on friendship, support, experiences or joy because getting there feels impossible.

Why your support matters

Your donation will help create:

✔ More access to safe spaces and youth clubs

✔ Increased independence and inclusion

✔ Stronger friendships and reduced isolation

✔ Opportunities to attend trips, activities and wellbeing events

✔ Improved emotional wellbeing and connection for families affected by sickle cell

Every pound raised helps us move closer to a future where young people living with sickle cell feel seen, supported and included.

Upcoming Fundraising Challenges

🥾 Snowdon Hike Challenge (with Summit Seekers)

🌙 Chase the Crescent Moon Walk – 5th September 2026

Around 17,000 people in the UK are living with sickle cell, so we’re setting a collective challenge to walk 170km together.

Whether you walk 1.7km or 17km, every step helps create change.

Easy ways to support

You do not need to climb a mountain to make an impact. You could:

• Host a bake sale

• Organise a workplace challenge

• Run, walk or cycle for sponsorship

• Give something up for September

• Create a birthday fundraiser instead of gifts

• Partner with your school, gym or community group

• Organise a sponsored litter pick

• Go live on social media and share why this cause matters

Please donate today

Your kindness could help a young person attend an event they would otherwise miss, build friendships, gain independence, and experience more freedom despite living with a lifelong condition.

Together, we can remove barriers and build a stronger, more inclusive community for families impacted by sickle cell.

Thank you for helping us make this possible.

With gratitude,

The Cianna’s Smile Team
