In October this year, Microsoft will make all our computers obsolete! Millions of computers around the world will no longer be able to run Windows 10 safely because security updates are being discontinued. However, these computers won’t have the hardware needed to run Windows 11. As well as being a huge waste of the earth's precious natural resources, this means that hundreds of charities like ours will either have to find the finance to buy new computers or risk using outdated computers that can no longer safely operate online.

To be honest, most of our computers are quite old already, having served us well, and would need replacing soon in any case!

The reality is that, whether it is people joining CMCS online seminars around the world, emailing colleagues, preparing teaching presentations, making videos or keeping you up to date with our work, computers are an essential tool we use all the time .
