Colinton Scarecrow Festival 2021

Scarecrows will be on display from lunchtime Saturday 25th September until Sunday 10th October. This year, entries were extended to all Colinton residents, with funds raised going to Colinton Village Enterprise SCIO and Bonaly Primary School.

Story

CVE was formed in 2019. We were granted Scottish Incorporated Charitable Organisation Status (SCIO) to operate with the common purpose of supporting the development of Colinton community's rich heritage by promoting social, artistic, recreational and commercial engagement.

Last year, fundraisers at Bonaly Primary School held a very enjoyable scarecrow festival throughout the village with pupils and parents entering their creations. It proved very popular to navigate the various sites via the custom map. This year, CVE was invited to share in the campaign and promote it more widely in Colinton. We hope you enjoy the various scarecrows appearing over the next few weeks!

Bonaly Primary School uses fundraising funds to support learning and teaching. The funds enhance the children's education as they're used for: Sumdog subscriptions, mathematics and literacy aids, arts and crafts materials, technology (e.g. screens, projector replacement), STEM items, nursery equipment (e.g. role play centre, library storage, puppets), playground games, visits from theatre companies... and LOTS more.
