Story

Cycle4Sepsis 2021 is back in better shape than ever and we cant wait to welcome you!

As restrictions begin to lift and its easier to get out and about, we're delighted to tell you about Cycle4Sepsis and how you can make our flagship event, now in its 8th year bigger, better and more memorable than ever!

Its so easy to take part. From July 1st through to the end of September (the 13th is World Sepsis Day) were urging all cyclists, seasoned or social, to take to the pedals and rack up some miles. However, you choose to do it, solo on an exercise bike, on your commute, or as part of a team of friends or work colleagues you'll be supporting the charity's work at this vital time. Every one of your miles matters. The suggested minimum fundraising target is £150 per cyclist (that pays for 6 hours of one of our support nurses time this could be at a Support Group or in person on the phone).

Finally, as you may know, there are many similarities between sepsis and COVID-19 (more info here) so we've extended our support to people affected by COVID-19. By participating in Cycle4Sepsis, you'll be helping more people than ever, and at a time when they need us most. As always, our support line is available 24/7 by calling 0808 800 0029.

Thank you. We really cant do this without you!

ps it would be fantastic if you could encourage other families & friends to sign up too or indeed any organisations you think might be interested. Sepsis Savvy link/quote

Sepsis accounts for 48,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is what happens when our immune system overreacts to an infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition.
