DREAMers are vital members of our UNC community, and we love being part of their journey to a better future. However, DREAMers face challenges that US citizens do not, and we need your help to support them.

A DREAMer is a student who is undocumented or who has deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA). Many of our DREAMers are the first in their families to go to college and face significant financial challenges.

Over the summer our Bear Community stepped up in a BIG way and provided enough funding to cover the cost for all of our DACA students seeking immediate financial support - but our work is not done.

The cost to maintain DACA status, which allows DREAMers to legally live and work in the U.S., costs $495 every two years. Many families that are part of our UNC community are struggling financially, but our DREAMers are particularly vulnerable. We want to continue to support them year after year.
