Please help Darragh & Friends

Please help little Darragh, our latest rescue! We also desperately need help to care for our other ponies, to bring them through Winter and to clear our vet bills so we can help more ponies like little Darragh.

We are a small volunteer led charity, rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming equines, mainly from the Welsh Commons. We castrate colts & stallions to promote breeding controls, reduce fighting amongst the herds, we rescue orphan foals, ponies in poor condition and attend RTCs.

Story

On Saturday 7th December we were contacted by several people about a pony that had been living inside a house and was then left outside in a back yard without sufficient food or shelter for the last week! Neighbours had been feeding the little one hay and were extremely concerned for his welfare.

Without hesitation, despite the terrible weather in the area Ann attended the property & was given permission to rescue this little one. It transpires that he is only a foal, possibly less than 6 months old and too young to be away from his mum. He was covered in dog faeces, lice and has a heavy worm burden. He has seen the vet and is on antibiotics and will have a 5 day wormer.

This little one is now warm & comfortable at the Charity, he needs your help.

Lots of other ponies at the rescue also need your help if we are to keep rescuing ponies like Darragh. The number of ponies needing help from the charity is unprecedented & people are contacting us in desperation, telling us that they are being ignored by the bigger charities when they ask for help. We are mostly volunteer led, with a little paid help to look after the ponies in our care each day. We are struggling to be able to help more ponies as we are not raising enough funds to clear the bills for each pony passing through the charity. Ponies like Darragh that have needed our help in the past, through neglect, an accident or being unwanted through no fault of their own. We always want to help, but we are genuinely struggling!

We have monthly rent for stables & grazing, feed, vet, trimmer, dentals & some paid work. Our charity vehicle is in a state of disrepair & despite being fixed is still not driveable so still needs further repairs to enable us to tow or we rely on the goodwill of volunteers to use their own vehicles, also currently off the road.

Any help no matter how small will help the ponies in our care and we are extreme grateful.

Thank you from Ann & the Team! 🙏
