Asylum seekers live in financial hardship. Only 2% of families can afford the clothing they need. Under lockdown, our drop-ins had to close and with them, our clothing offer. But our clients need winter clothes.
With money raised from this appeal, DASH will bulk buy vouchers from Kirkwood Hospice shops that will not only provide clients with winter clothes, it will afford them the dignity of being able to shop for themselves.
This has the added bonus of benefitting a second local charity - Kirkwood Hospice cares for people with life-limiting illnesses.
As a triple whammy, we're delighted that Kirklees' One Community Foundation has agreed to match the first £1500 of this fundraiser, pound for pound, making your donation THRICE AS NICE!
Please note: Vouchers will be issued to clients from 2nd December or as soon as the second lockdown restrictions are lifted.
