Daviot Community Trust Tractor Fund

To enable Daviot Community Trust to continue the maintenance and development of the estate we are looking to fund a replacement Tractor. We have been offered an almost new tractor at a considerable discount, Offer is time limited!

The Trust owns 22 acres of woodland between Daviot Village and Daviot Estate. The land was transferred to DCT under a Section 75 Agreement between Edinmore Property Developers and Aberdeenshire Council. We have created over 2km of paths and planted over 600 trees to provide an environment for all .

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit ourJustGiving page.

Since the village of Daviot was gifted 23 acres of land 17 years ago, Daviot Community Trust has worked hard to transform an abandoned area of land into a peaceful haven for people and wildlife. We have planted hundreds of trees and bulbs, laid a path network and revitalised two ponds. We have more plans for the future but need a new small tractor to help us as our present machine is no longer fit for use. Over the last 3 years the Trust has been applying for grants to enable this to happen. However, it now seems that most grants are only available for ‘green’ machinery, and the funding of a small diesel tractor is unlikely. An electric tractor is not a viable option for the Trust (we have no supply on site). We have recently been offered, by a friend of the Trust, an almost new 26HP tractor complete with loader, trailer and multiple implements, at a very good price. We are looking to raise £10,000 with your help, and with the funds we have already saved we should be able to purchase the tractor to allow our volunteers to continue to maintain the land and allow us to complete our future plans. Thank you from Daviot Community Trust, the people of Daviot and surrounding area.
