My grandma feared hospitals, but thanks to this amazing charity she was able to spend her final days in peace, dignity and surrounded by her family.

She received the best possible care at St Bede's hospice in the grounds of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Gateshead.

They are not funded by the NHS and rely on donations to keeping caring for people and their families.
