We have recently acquired a 25-year lease on a one-hectare field including three ponds. We are seeking to enclose the site, provide safe access for visitors and begin planting new hedgerows and trees. Initial activities will include angling, animal rescue, a forestry school and community events.

Story

The Dane Bank Green Space Charity, established in 2020, has a 25-year lease on two sites including three ponds and a one-hectare field. Phase 1 site improvements were funded by two lottery grants, topped up with a successful Just Giving campaign that raised £11,495. This money was used to create new access, car park and circulatory footpath.

Phase 2 seeks to further develop the site with a range of facilities to enhance the visitor experience. These will include a sensory trail, small amphitheatre, butterfly garden, tree and shrub planting.

A follow up bid to the Big Lottery will be made to secure funding for a Lodge which is intended as a key facility to further the aims and the objectives of the Charity and a range of stakeholders including education, wildlife, ecology, health and wellbeing.

We are seeking further funding and support to help achieve our overall aspirations.
