TV Presenter, Debbie Flint, became an ambassador for the charity, Medical Detection Dogs, in 2015 after meeting them at an event in London.
Through Debbie's own fundraising and networking and introductions she has so far raised over £33,000 which has helped hugely to continue training our life-saving dogs.
Medical Detection Dogs trains dogs to save lives using their amazing sense of smell.
Bio Detection Dogs are trained to detect diseases like cancers, Parkinson’s and bacterial infections in the charity’s training room and their work could lead to faster, more accurate and less-invasive diagnosis.
Medical Alert Assistance Dogs support people with complex health conditions like diabetes, PoTS and severe allergies by warning them when they’re about to have a potentially life-threatening medical event, so they can take the necessary action and prevent hospital admission.
When the charity was founded over 15 years ago, many alert dogs were trained to help clients with Type 1 diabetes manage that condition too, but developments in technology mean that often, that can provide a successful early warning system so only the occasional T1d dog is trained, and mainly as successor dogs.
Recently, Debbie hosted an Afternoon Tea at our training center just outside of Milton Keynes, to raise much needed funds and awareness. She continues to support the charity and fundraise for our super sniffers and already has further events planned Watch the video below from our Instagram page with the highlights from our Afternoon Tea.

“There are lots of ways to support Medical Detection Dogs! It might involve joining me and my colleagues for an afternoon tea or taking part in another event.
Sponsoring a puppy is a lovely way to support and you receive a lovely gift for friends and family. You can choose a puppy to sponsor on the website for as little as £5 a month!
There are also opportunities to name a puppy after someone special to you and follow the progress of that puppy as it embarks on its life-saving career.
I would urge you to find out more about this charity and see the way it supports people suffering with Postural Tachycardia Syndrome (PoTS), Addison’s and other life-limiting and life-threatening diseases.”
The next date for the diary is a lunch on June 10 in central London. Please do get in touch for more details and how to join us.

I hope to meet you at some stage or see you again! Thank you for all your support and a donation in the meantime can make a big difference, whether it’s for puppy toys, training pads or leads and chew’s it all counts!
Thank you in anticipation for your support!
