Story
My name is Nicola Schuller and I have witnessed the care and comfort Saint Francis provide in palliative care treatment as my Mum, Debbie was a resident there for her remaining days and nights on Earth.
They took time, care & expertise to care medically for my Mum but also to calm her and relax her in her final days.
Last year the Debsway charity ball event was a smash hit and it was only this week I posted some videos of the event to mark 1 year to the day that we celebrated that night. Wow, so much has happened in a year. Who would believe we are in the middle of a pandemic with horrific ramifications with people losing loved ones, people suffering with after effects, losing jobs, homes & businesses. The NHS have been our heros this year and have shone bright and done the UK proud. Sadly, for all hospice they do not receive full funding and rely on charity events and fundraising but of course we have been locked down with nowhere to go & nothing open so the impact on charitable donation has been staggering.
So, I contacted Lisa at Saint Francis after my posts of such a sparkling evening raising money for Saint Francis & I said I have an idea?!
Id like to launch a walk, to start training in early January, a 21 day walking challenge, as much or as little as you can do but try and push for 10k a day. Then on 30th January, walk a half marathon!
The Half Marathon will be at your own pace but setting off at 6am. For those of you with social media track your training and walking by tagging @saintfrancishospice @schullerinc I have also teamed up with @lkb.fitness who has her army of walkers joining to also help raise funds for Saint Francis and Saint Clares Hospice.
Lets go into phase 2 of Lockdown with a different approach to our health and get fit & healthy for the New Year with our families all whilst helping others in need.
I'm excited to see your posts and tags and need all the motivation I can get from you guys so please sign up to help me and together we can help others.
Love always
Nic
