Support Families Facing Deep Poverty in Türkiye

​​For families living in deep poverty in Türkiye, everyday life can be a constant struggle to meet the most basic needs — food, clothing, rent, and access to education.

Today, one in three children in Türkiye lives in poverty. When families cannot meet basic needs, the effects are felt most deeply by children. Some skip school because of hunger, face bullying due to worn clothes, or drop out entirely to help their families survive.

This is how poverty traps the next generation before they’ve even had a chance to begin.

Sometimes, small things can make a big difference. Access to nutritious meals, clean clothing, or basic household appliances can help families maintain dignity and allow children to stay in school.

Our Mission

We are raising funds for our Deep Poverty Action Fund to ensure that poverty does not stand in the way of a child’s future.

Through this campaign, we aim to help families meet their most urgent needs, including school nutrition for children and essential food support for families through June.

How You Can Help

Every pound helps families meet essential needs and gives children the chance to grow up with dignity, while also ensuring that civil society organisations have the resources needed to deliver this crucial work:

- £75 provides daily school meals for one child for one month

- £100 covers the monthly expenses of a child with special needs, including education, medication and healthcare, and nutritional support

- £150 ensures a child’s education needs are covered for one month, including meals, school supplies and clothing

- £335 provides one month of nutritious food for a single mother and her children

- £505 provides one month of food for a family of five

- £945 helps cover a household’s essential monthly expenses, including rent, food, utilities, healthcare, and transport

When families can meet their basic needs, children are free to learn, grow and pursue their dreams.

About the Deep Poverty Action Fund

Launched in 2021, the Deep Poverty Action Fund supports civil society initiatives addressing deep poverty and widening inequalities in Türkiye. Through the fund, organisations provide essential support such as food and hygiene products, while conducting research and advocacy to raise awareness about the realities faced by families living in deep poverty.
