Story
THE NEED
In Burkina Faso, villagers can spend many years in dental pain with no possibility of treatment. We have noted that about a third of primary school children need dental help. Dental care provision is usually only available in the bigger towns, and at a prohibitive cost for most people.
HOW APT HELPS
APT has trained local Christians to bring quality dental care to people who otherwise have no access to such help.
The dental workers are from local churches and are trained to do basic dental assessment and extraction. They may set up under a tree in a village, treating 20 people/day for a nominal cost, making dental care accessible to those previously without such provision. They also work in the local prison, in refugee camps, and other community groups.
The trained workers are recognised by, and work under the oversight of the national health authorities
Your support helps provide dental medicines and materials, and pay for travel to villages.
Thank you for any help you can give.
