Story

For many children, Christmas is an exciting time of year. But for 9 year old Zak, this Christmas is going to be extremely hard without his beloved 6 year old sister by his side after she sadly died in February this year.

Providing specialist care and emotional support to families like Zak's who may be facing the unimaginable, is just part of the many varied elements of our children's hospice service.

Our services means so many different things to the children and families that we support. This December it might be the opportunity to get messy making festive cards that will be treasured by their families. For others it could be helping children to communicate through specialist play and music therapy or providing parents with a much-needed break. For Zak and his parents, it will be the support they need to help face their first Christmas without Neve.

Our children's hospice service is free to those that need our support, but costs a lot to run. Please help us to continue our vital service by donating to our appeal.

"It will be a difficult one, we know that. I don't feel like we are doing it on our own. We have Alexander Devine and they have always been there for us" Sharon Dyson, Mum to Zak and Neve
