With a focus on patient-centred care, we combine state-of-the art-equipment, novel clinical trials, passionate staff and the most modern cancer research with compassion and effective psychological support so that our patients and their loved ones can feel fully supported throughout their cancer journey. We do this because we know each person and every cancer is unique - we don’t want to treat them all the same. Guy’s is the leading UK provider of care and treatment for people with cancer and we’re dedicated to helping patients navigate what can be the most challenging time of their lives. With all our services located under one roof within our bright and welcoming Cancer Centre, we’re able to offer seamless care every step of the way, from diagnosis, through treatment, and after, in an environment that doesn’t feel like a traditional hospital. We know that the landscape of cancer is changing. More people are being affected, but we’re at an exciting point in time when promising new therapies are being developed and research breakthroughs are waiting to be made. It’s crucial that we continue to fund the innovative research, treatment and exceptional care that takes place at Guy’s to ensure we keep going above and beyond what the NHS alone can provide as we help more people cope with and survive cancer.

Story

Moments of fear, pain, sickness and exhaustion. Hope, celebration, and loss. Every one of these moments matter, because everyone experiences cancer differently.

Guy's Cancer are here for the people behind every moment of progress. Whether it’s a major medical breakthrough, an enhancement in treatment, or the day a patient gets the all-clear after years of personalised care.

On November 30th, it will be 50 years since Susan, passed away from breast cancer in 1973. She fought it hard, for seven years from her first diagnosis while she was pregnant with Steve's sister, Stacy.

That was a lifetime in the late 60s.

On 30th November Steve will be honouring his mom by walking FIFTY kilometres (THIRTY-ONE miles – a mile for every year of her life) along the Thames from Walton-on-Thames, just west of Hampton Court, through my adopted hometown of London towards our flat near Tower Bridge. He will finish at the front door of Guy’s Cancer.

$60 could help provide a comforting care package for someone receiving end of life care, helping to alleviate symptoms and soothe fears.

$180 could provide expert welfare and benefits advice for a patient experiencing financial hardship, giving them the freedom to focus on their recovery.

$430 can help invest in the latest surgical robotic technology, so expert surgeons can work with greater accuracy and send patients home to their families sooner.
