Preparing for Disability Cuts

Organised by Stepping Forward

We are currently overwhelmed with enquiries from concerned disabled adults and parents/carers who fear the impact of the proposed disability benefits cuts. We're fundraising to extend the hours of our Benefits Adviser to meet this demand for support

Stepping Forward facilitates access to essential services, information & life opportunities so that disabled people & carers can live a full life. We run advice services & disability awareness sessions. Our international work supports practical initiatives to improve the lives of disabled people.

Story

Stepping Forward is currently overwhelmed with enquiries from concerned disabled adults and parents/carers who fear the impact of the proposed cuts to disability benefits. The proposed changes to PIP and the ending of the work capability assessment will have a huge impact: almost 90% of standard rate daily living awards fail the proposed PIP 4-point test.

We encourage people to contribute to the ongoing consultation process (deadline 30 June 2025) at:

https://www.gov.uk/.../pathways-to-work-reforming...

We are raising funds to strengthen and extend our Benefits Advice Service, so that our Advice Worker can help people in the period leading up to the change (November 2026) and thereafter.
