Story
With your help we can continue through to December, whilst applications are made for larger grants.
Here is a snap shot of the possitive comments we recieve.
"This organizations is uniquely equipped to strategically readjust the entrenched inequality and hate faced by people with disabilities!"
"You guys are awesome!!" "Lovely to meet Charlotte and Deborah at at Disability Support today. Look forward to volunteering for this amazing team." "Just been to see Disability Support for help with my Personal Independence payment tribunal. Really good support & advice - feeling much more positive about the whole thing!"
Since becoming independent last year we do not have annual accounts, which means we can't apply for larger grants.
However Charlotte Throssel, who has a substantial physical disability herself, consulted with clients on what we should do for the future once a satellite service closed in October 2018.
It was clear from the amount of people we supported since 2011and the comments and reactions of clients and staff, that we should do everything in our power to continue services in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. Charlotte and a board of directors set up Disability Support to do just that. Despite securing four years worth of Community Fund money to pay advice staff, we still have no funding for services such as; supporting with and attending appeals and tribunals, odd small DIY and garden jobs, befriending type support and many more. Nor do we have money for the basics like electricity.
