Story
For almost four years, we have been delivering Sensory Workshops for folk aged 60-91 at Dixon Community, Govanill in Glasgow.
Workshops are a mix of movement, art-making and music and take place at Dixon Community and also on day trips to beaches or gardens.
Participants describe the workshop sessions as, “better than my medication.”
Participants benefit from improved wellbeing from having regular space for connection with others and with nature, and a sense of belonging. They develop more confidence in themselves and their bodies.
Participants say: “It lifted my depression and sadness”, “It stops my aches and pains” and staff: “It’s good for everyone’s wellbeing, especially mental health.
