The Leicester City of Sanctuary are a Leicester based charity offering support to refugees and asylum seekers. They offer a range of services such as ESOL classes, football sessions, sewing and IT clubs, as well as opening a central up with welcome and support services, and a hot meal.

DMU Local have been working with the City of Sanctuary to offer student volunteers for their different services, and have also given students the opportunity to run fundraising events for the charity. These events are created solely by the students, with the support of DMU Local, and all proceeds are donated to the City of Sanctuary.
